Shifty Brent - Your Blue Cup

Your blue cup waits beside the sink, the kettle cools,
The curtains breathe.
You left your book turned face down,
As if the last page might come true.
Stay till the first bus crosses town,
Stay while the room is holding still.
I don't need promises tonight,
Just your coat against the chair.
